Modi Green $500B

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration has set an ambitious goal to double bilateral trade with the United States to $500 billion by 2030, establishing a bold economic vision coined the “Mission 500.” This colossal target, which has been consistently reaffirmed across various high-level international meetings, is not tied to a Green Energy Fund but rather focuses on strengthening the comprehensive India-US trade and strategic partnership. The roadmap for this unprecedented growth involves negotiating a new, mutually beneficial Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) and prioritizing collaboration in strategic sectors such as green energy, defense, technology transfer, and advanced manufacturing. The focus on green energy within this wider $500 billion trade framework signifies India’s commitment to sustainable development while leveraging international collaboration to boost its export competitiveness and achieve energy security. This deepening economic and strategic alignment is projected to position India as the world’s fourth-largest economy.
